Farm Internships:

Field Worker/ Packer/Washer: 2-4 hours a week

Days: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday

Work Months: April-October

*Hours will vary with the seasons. We work in the field Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays 9-12 during most of the growing season.  We break for lunch from 12-1. Monday and Fridays we go back to the field 1-3 p.m. if there is still work to do and Wednesday 1-3 p.m we pack boxes for customers and farm helpers.  To learn more about our program please email us. We are looking for people that commit to 2-4 hours a week during part of our fieldwork hours. Some weeks we will need extra help and some weeks we may need no help. 

Duties:

Workers will need to be flexible and committed to helping the farm grow in its overall goal of becoming sustainable using organic small-scale farming methods.  

Include preparing the beds for planting, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing and bagging veggies for sale. You will be involved in all aspects of vegetable production.  You may also be asked to assist with animal responsibilities and other farm projects depending on your job skills and interests. 

Compensation will be determined by hours and contribution to the farm. You can expect to grow in your knowledge of organic small-scale vegetable production as well as receive a box of veggies each week for that weeks work time. Some positions will also receive some meat and eggs depending on the hours & the level of commitment.

Farm Caretaker April-October 2018: 2-4 hour a week

Hours: 

June-August Monday, Wednesday 9-12 or 3-6 p.m. or Saturdays 9-12 or 1-3 p.m. 

Spring: We usually begin working on outside projects during April and May getting ready for the season. Hours can be the same as the summer or we can possibly work with a person who is willing or able to work one weeknight during the week. This can also be an option for summer help.

Include assisting with each year's farm maintenance. The ideal person should be self-motivated and able to work alone or alongside others and able to help assist or lead projects to improve the farm from fences to building projects. For 2017 we are looking for someone to join us and assist in taking down the current fencing and establishing new fencing, repairing and building new broiler tractors, putting up electric for hogs as well as working toward installing a cool-bot to keep produce fresh. You may also be asked to assist with animal responsibilities and other farm projects depending on your job skills and interests.  You may also be asked to assist with animal responsibilities and other farm projects depending on your job skills and interests.

Recipe Designer:

Are you gifted and creative? We are seeking someone who enjoys the challenge of taking each weeks box of food and creating meals from it while developing recipes for others to follow. The ideal person would work directly with Kristen to create recipes and help others learn how to use their boxes of food to create healthy meals. 

Hours:

We will need to commit to picking up a box every other week during the growing season and submit your recipes from the week priors box by the date you pick up your next box.  

Compensation:

We will donate the veggie portion of the box but ask that you still support the farm by purchasing the meat and egg portion of the farm box.
